Marks & SPENCER: FinD YOUR SHAPEWEAR

Marks & Spencer invited me to work at their headquarters in London for 2 weeks to work on a Shapewear Guided Selling tool that would live on their website. This tool would guide the customer through a few questions and then providing shapewear recommendations at the end.

QUESTIONS

I helped the M&S team with the flow and the questions that were necessary to ask when their customers were shopping for shapewear. Ie worked closely with M&S’s Lingerie & Underwear department to come up with the questions that they would ask customers in their stores. We came up with 6 questions to help narrow their results:

  1. What would you like your shapewear to do?

  2. What sizes do you usually wear?

  3. What is your body shape?

  4. What level of support is right for you?

  5. Does your shapewear need to be worn under a specific outfit?

  6. What colour shapewear would you like?

WIREFRAMES

After the questions were nailed down, I wireframed the tool keeping Guided Selling best practices in mind, such as including a progress to show where the user is in their journey, allowing users to save/print their recommendations, and providing the right amount of context to help explain questions and selections. I put together an annotated wireframe document with the M&S UX Manager.

DESIGN

Once we were happy with the wireframes, I collaborated with their visual designer on the final designs. Using M&S brand and assets, we were able to complete the tool.
